This is an old post, however, you say that moles do not dig into graves and eat corpses (obviously this is true) but they DO have the hardware to break into semirotted caskets to get to the delicious bugs that have begun to reach the carcas and breed/feast.

Also, depending on the timeframe, I could understand someone (for whatever reason) digging up a grave only to find an innocent mole feasting on bugs, and mistake the sight as the mole attacking the carcass instead.Absentia Xuicoatlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05455405796737665714noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3739684561063978507.post-63742017286082062402013-03-05T21:16:00.792+00:002013-03-05T21:16:00.792+00:00My thought, to a certain extent. My thought, to a certain extent.Da Selkiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09083593662758737658noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3739684561063978507.post-59586300433480838502012-12-27T03:46:05.713+00:002012-12-27T03:46:05.713+00:00Hi Dr. Shuker! I just got your Encyclopaedia of New and Rediscovered Animals and I absolutely love it! Lots of interesting stories on creatures I'd never come across before, fascinating! Keep up the good work Karl, the more the better. I'd like to see an in-depth article on the 11 Scottish lochs alleged to have / contain monsters.
Glen Quoich was allegedly haunted by a 'sprite' named Cuachag. We were camped at a remote lochan not far from there a couple of years back. Due to an incident that happened there I think Cuachag is still roaming the area. Its a remote part of Scotland, you don't see many people there. Another possible article if you can gather enough material on the subject.
I want to go fishing for those 30 foot Taimen!!
Campbell.

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3739684561063978507.post-35022843815674547502012-12-23T16:25:50.134+00:002012-12-23T16:25:50.134+00:00Is it possible that necrolestes is not really exti...Is it possible that necrolestes is not really extinct?Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00746337477925213143noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3739684561063978507.post-23462089291585679452012-12-23T02:39:17.534+00:002012-12-23T02:39:17.534+00:00I have in my files an account of a similar creatur...I have in my files an account of a similar creature infesting a graveyard in America, around the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.

Best regards,

Theotheo paijmanshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17890509406570628152noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3739684561063978507.post-57608298742045182722012-12-23T01:04:48.923+00:002012-12-23T01:04:48.923+00:00I don't think it's any kind of mole, for t...I don't think it's any kind of mole, for the reasons that I give in my article - morphologically and behaviourally, it doesn't recall a mole at all.Dr Karl Shukerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06222845702628862829noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3739684561063978507.post-36180324918185194342012-12-23T01:04:02.528+00:002012-12-23T01:04:02.528+00:00Thank you Amanda, I'm very pleased to hear tha...Thank you Amanda, I'm very pleased to hear that your brother enjoyed my Mysteries of Planet Earth so much - it was a sequel to an earlier book of mine, The Unexplained, which was published by Carlton again, in 1996, and is full-colour throughout, with lots of true-life mysteries from around the world, famous and less famous.Dr Karl Shukerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06222845702628862829noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3739684561063978507.post-4483935316494933502012-12-23T00:18:27.114+00:002012-12-23T00:18:27.114+00:00I brought Mysteries of Planet Earth for my brother...I brought Mysteries of Planet Earth for my brother some years ago.
