Также есть рассказы в Украине о огромных в ладошку жуках - оленях , которые пьют кровь у цыплят , о курицах которые кукарекать могут как петух 🐓 , о лошадях которые живут только в тумане утром , потом исчезают , об огромных 6 метровых змеях Черниговской области 70-х , о динозавре Бари ониксе из реки Десна и многое другое )) уважаю Карла 💪Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3739684561063978507.post-33818014090375613592022-05-15T07:48:18.477+01:002022-05-15T07:48:18.477+01:00Judging by Robert Wolff's description, I'd...Judging by Robert Wolff's description, I'd love to have a nandinia for a pet. :)

To my mind, the gliding is very interesting whether it's a common trait or not. If uncommon, it suggests nandinia can learn remarkably unusual abilities. As far as I know, any land animal which can will instinctively spread itself out to increase wind resistance while falling, but for a wild animal to learn to use this to travel a distance seems remarkable to me.

The steep angle of attack - over 45 degrees - also surprises me. I would have expected the animal to stall, losing lift and falling almost vertically to land far too close to the dogs. However, aerodynamics are full of surprises. It's commonly believed that efficient gliding requires very long thin wings, but the most airborne of all birds, the petrels, spend much of their time gliding despite having short wings. The secret is they glide very fast. In the world of aircraft, Concorde was remarkable for coming in to land at an angle of attack which would stall just-about any other aircraft, showing that steep angles are possible if the shape is just right. And I have no idea what fur would do to stall characteristics. Something complex, no doubt.

Hmm... fur and aerodynamics... were pterosaurs capable of unusual gliding too? I wonder! :) Perhaps it'll be tested in simulation, one day. They say Azhdarchids -- one of the two largest known flying creatures to have ever existed -- inhabited forests, so I think they may have needed remarkable flying characteristics to land safely.Ethan Gardenerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04477704222423568933noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3739684561063978507.post-60958868434969990192013-08-05T01:44:04.490+01:002013-08-05T01:44:04.490+01:00What a funny little critter!
